SSM, ON – The Kirkland Lake Aquatic Club (KLAC) Stingrays made waves at the 2025 Dave Kensit Memorial Championship in Sault Ste. Marie, delivering an outstanding performance that secured them the Small Team High Points Banner for the second year in a row.
With 22 swimmers in attendance—up from 15 last year—the Stingrays demonstrated incredible growth and determination, achieving:
• 107 personal best times
• 25 top-three finishes
• 393 total team points—a remarkable 143-point increase from 2024
• 24 finals appearances from our 13 & over swimmers—a huge jump from just 5 last year
• 7 swimmers dropped 30+ seconds in at least one event
• 6 swimmers competed in their first-ever finals at the Dave Kensit Memorial Championship
• Maddy Evans (8) was the youngest swimmer at the meet, proudly representing KLAC
Leading the charge was Andi-Lynn Nosworthy, who finished third overall in the girls’ 10 & under high point rankings, contributing 48 points to KLAC’s impressive total.
“Our swimmers showed incredible heart, discipline, and teamwork throughout the weekend,” said KLAC co-head coach Logan Levesque. “Every athlete contributed to our success, whether by earning points, setting personal bests, or cheering on their teammates. The team definitely kept us on our toes, and we lost our voices by the end of the weekend from cheering so much! Winning the banner for the second straight year proves that our team continues to grow stronger.”
The KLAC Stingrays continue to build momentum this season, demonstrating their dedication to excellence both in and out of the pool. The team looks forward to carrying this success into their upcoming competitions.
